The Core Elements of Recalibr8

Core Elements of Recalibr8

A Fellowship of Men

Love God More -  If we don’t leave our times together feeling more inspired and encouraged in our faith and pursuit of God, then we’ve failed. ”Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” - Deuteronomy 6:5

Christ as Model - There is no better template for a more principled and disciplined life that that of Jesus.  If we are to call ourselves Christians, let us strive to be Christ-like. ”Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” - Ephesians 5:1-2

Build Community -  The hope is that we build a strong bond as friends committed to each other’s well being and growth.  This also means that we rejoice in each other’s victories and press in to each other’s challenges. “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” - Hebrews 10:24-25

Outward Impact – One of our greatest callings is to serve others and look beyond ourselves.  Recalibr8 is “our” time as men however as we go out into our daily lives, let us bring the love of God with us and embrace an “others centric” mentality. For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” -Galatians 5:13

Prayer -  If we claim dependency on God, then let’s maintain a humble posture before Him and seek Him in prayer individually and collectively. ” Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” -James 5:16

God’s Word – The Bible is God’s living and dynamic blueprint for life.  We are committed to a lifelong discipline of reading and studying His Word. ”All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” -2 Timothy 3:16-17

Make Disciples - With God’s help, may we live a life worth imitating and then make space to intentionally invest our lives (time, talents & treasures) into building His kingdom and raising up other men of God, one man at a time.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20
